24-hour monitoring of country-made liquor, IMFL and beer distilleries

In view of Lok Sabha elections in the state, 24-hour vigil is being maintained on all country-made liquor, IMFL and beer distilleries. For this, CCTV cameras have been installed on the entry-exit gates of every distilling unit. Besides, vigil is also being maintained on storages round the clock. Flying squads and Statics Surveillance Teams have also been constituted for monitoring.

Office of the Excise Commissioner has directed all District Excise Officers to undertake intensive monitoring of all liquor shops from 5 days before polling. Directives have been given to ensure regular monitoring of the liquor shops where sale of liquor has increased by 50 percent compared to last year. The commission has appointed Additional Excise Commissioner Shri D.R. Jauhari as the State Nodal Officer, who will submit regular reports to Chief Electoral Officer as directed by the commission.

All country-made liquor, IMFL and beer distilleries, which send their products to other states, have been asked to give its regular information to the Nodal Officer.
