Over 21 thousand non-bailable warrants served
Large-scale security arrangements have been made to ensure free and fair Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh. To prevent misuse of weapons, illegal arms are being recovered and licensed weapons got deposited. So far, 2 lakh 50 thousand 70 licensed weapons have been deposited. In the series, 1166 licensed weapons have been seized and 3033 arms licenses cancelled. So far, 21 thousand 599 non-bailable warrants have been issued of which 1293 were issued in last 24 hours. Similarly, police has seized 1615 illegal weapons.
Action has been taken under various sections of CrPC against one lakh 6 thousand 332 persons so far and 89 thousand 61 persons have been bound over. Action was taken against 716 persons for violating this provision. In police action, explosives of 4 types have been seized. Besides, 11 different kinds of bombs and 425 live cartridges have also been seized.
As many as 345 check posts have been set up in view of security in Vidhan Sabha constituencies. In all, 3299 majra-tolas have been identified under vulnerability mapping. Similarly, 7 thousand 360 people who can harass voters have also been identified. Action has been taken against 6031 such persons.
Police action
During last 24 hours, Madhav Nagar police station in Katni seized 2 bombs. In Seoni, 141 litre illicit liquore and 52 kg cannabis were seized while SST seized Rs. 3 lakh 80 thousand. In Bhopal and Mandsaur also 103 litre and 108 litre illicit liquor was seized, respectively.
