Undertake performance audit of sports officers: CM Shri Chouhan
Sports Academies in the state have done well. Requirements and needs should be reviewed to make them even better and desired facilities should be provided to them. Targets under Maa Tujhe Pranam Yojana should also be increased. This was directed by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan during review of Sports and Youth Welfare Department here today.
Shri Chouhan said that departmental processes should be made practical. Purchase process should be transparent. There should be clear-cut norms for coaches’ honorarium. They should be graded. Use of available resources and materials should be regularly monitored. Construction works should be effectively supervised. He directed to review operation of sports complexes and stadiums in the state.
The meeting was informed that Madan Lal Cricket Academy Gwalior will be shifted to Shivpuri to provide it stadium. A decision has been taken to transfer Swami Vivekananda Yuva Kendras to Higher Education Department. The meeting was informed that 176 players have been identified for Olympics 2020. Self-defence training was imparted to over 19 thousand girls of above 10 years of age at 42 district headquarters. About 2 lakh rural youths participated in inter-police station sports competitions. Selection trial competitions were held for talented players 9 to 20 years of age at district and division levels. Their training is underway.
Sports & Youth Welfare and Religious Trusts & Endowment Minister Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, Secretary Finance Shri Manish Rastogi, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Manoj Shrivastava and departmental officers were present on the occasion.
