Technical Education Minister Shri Gupta reviews activities

As many as 400 training officers will be recruited in ITIs. At a review meeting here today, Technical Education and Skill Development Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta directed to complete recruitment process at the earliest. Shri Gupta said that posting of 989 officers and employees selected by Professional Exam Board earlier should be made soon. He said that if police verification is being delayed then postings should be made by obtaining affidavits from selected employees.
Shri Gupta said that best faculties should be posted in 10 ITIs being developed as centres of excellence. He directed to start 51 new trades in 28 ITIs to be opened from August 2014. The Technical Education Minister said that necessary action should be completed to open proposed mining engineering college at Singrauli within time-limit.
Results should be given at exam hall
The Technical Education Minister said that results of the exam conducted on OMR Sheets in the institutions under Technical Education and Skill Development Department should be given at exam halls. He said that necessary equipments for it should be purchased and software developed. Shri Gupta said that CC TV cameras should be installed in all exam centres. Recording of practical tests and viva should also be done. He said that no negligence and irregularity will be tolerated in exam.
Test for faculties in technical institutions
Eligibility test will be conducted by Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya for faculties of government and private technical colleges. Only the candidates selected through these tests will be appointed for teaching in government and private technical colleges.
The Technical Education Minister said that wi-fi facility should be made available in all engineering and polytechnic colleges before next academic session. E-librarians should be trained.
Shri Gupta directed to ensure amendment in service rules of Technical Education Department at the earliest. Following it, recruitment of 90 lecturers in engineering and 480 in polytechnics will be made through Public Service Commission.
Principal Secretary Technical Education Shri Sanjay Singh informed that lands for ITI buildings have been selected in 130 out of 134 development blocks. He informed that district-level ITIs have been made nodal agencies.
Additional Secretary Technical Education Shri Shameemuddin, Director Technical Education Shri Arun Nahar and Director Skill Development Shri D.K. Vyas were present on the occasion.
