Bhopal: Honorary Flying Officer (HFO) K.K. Kamal was felicitated on attaining the age of 90 years at a special ceremony organised by the Madhya Pradesh Branch of the Air Force Association (AFA) at the Briefing Hall of the Airmen Selection Centre, Bhopal in 27 September. Air Vice Marshal Pramod Shrivastava vishisht seva medal ( Retired), President of the AFA Madhya Pradesh Branch, presented the honour, while other air veterans aged 80 years and above were also felicitated for their distinguished service and enduring association with the Indian Air Force.
Speaking on the occasion, the President highlighted the important role played by the Air Force Association in the welfare of air veterans and their families. The Association serves as a common platform for air veterans and provides assistance to veterans and their dependants in various areas.
The welfare initiatives of the Air Force Association include scholarships for education, financial assistance for medical treatment, support for the marriage of daughters of widows of air veterans, and administrative assistance to veterans in addressing their various requirements.
The felicitation ceremony provided an opportunity for members of the Air Force fraternity to come together, honour senior veterans and acknowledge their valuable contribution and service to the nation. The gathering also reflected the enduring bond and camaraderie among serving personnel, veterans and their families. At the end, Group Captain Harprit Singh, Vice President thanked everyone for making this event a success.
