Dilip and Uddhav inaugurates the JOY MUKERJI MARG

It is hard to define the prince of romance - Joy Mukerji.You could call him a chocolate-boy hero with an infectious smile while many in the sixties felt he was the price of romance! Co-stars would define him as the ultimate prankster who never left space for a dull moment on the sets.

In memory of Noted Indian Film Actor,Producer & Director -Joy Mukerji, the ‘Joy Mukerji Marg’ was inaugurated today at Versova in Mumbai. The Guest Of Honor were Veteran Actors Dilip Kumar & Saira Bano.and Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray.Also present were Mayor of Mumbai,Sunil Prabhu,Anu Malik,Ravindra Jain,Amit Kumar and entire Mukerji family namely- Neelam Mukerji (Joy's wife),Sujoy (Joy's elder son) and Munjoy (Joy's younger son),Simran (daughter) and brothers- Ronu Mukerji, Debu Mukerji and Babla Mukerji.

On the occasion,Mr.Udhhav Thakeray said 'Joy Saab was a legend in his own right and had an uninimitable style, surely he was an institute in himself and will be remembered for generations to come'.Mrs.Neelam Mukerji (Joy's wife) said,'Roads and lanes are meant to walk upon and reach destinations.For us, roads and lanes are a means to traverse through our memories! A winding tree lined lane will be a reminder of how Joy walked this path and left behind his footmarks forever so its befitting tribute to him that this peaceful road has been named as ‘Joy Mukerji Marg’'.Joy Mukerji was an enigma in ways more than one. 

His saw meteoric rise thanks to sixties jubilee hits like- Love In Shilma(1960), Ek Musafir Ek Hasina(1962),Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hu(1963),Ziddi(1964),Bahu Beti(1965), Love In Tokyo (1966), Shagird (1967),Humsaya(1968) and Chaila Babu(1977) all of which had amazing music and huge chart buster songs.True to his name, Joy Mukerji will always be synonymous with the enjoyable, innocent style with humour!
