Central team arrives to take stock of hail ravaged crops

A 9-member Central team arrived in Bhopal today to take stock of hail ravaged crops loss in the state. Members of the team held discussions with senior officers at Mantralaya today. The team will hold discussions with Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa on March 15.

Three groups of the team will visit districts on March 14 and 15 to assess crop loss on March 14. The first team led by Shri Sanjay Lohiya, Joint Secretary (Crops), Government of India accompanied by Dr. R.G. Bambal, Deputy Commissioner, Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries and Shri Salim Haider, Assistant Advisor, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation will visit Agar-Malwa, Ujjain and Indore. The team will leave by helicopter from Bhopal for Dewas at 7.30 am. The team will night halt at Indore. At 7.30 on March 15, the team will go to Dhar from Indore and then return from Dhar to Bhopal in the afternoon.

The second team led by Shri Sandeep Saxena, Under Secretary, Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and accompanied by members Sushri Anuradha Batana, Research Officer, Planning Commission and Dr. M.N. Singh, Joint Director, DAC will visit Vidisha, Raisen and Sehore on March 14.

The team will leave by helicopter from Bhopal for Vidisha at 7.30 am. The team will night halt at Bhopal. At 7.30 am on March 15, the team will go to Chhindwara from Bhopal. They will return to Bhopal in the afternoon.

The third team led by Shri Satya Prakash Vashishth, Director (MNREGA), Ministry of Rural Development and accompanying members Shri Manoj Tiwari, Director CWC and Shri B.L. Meena, Assistant Director, Department of Expenditure will visit Tikamgarh and Chhatarpur districts on March 14. They will leave by helicopter from Bhopal for Tikamgarh at 7.30 am. The team will night halt at Chhatarpur. At 7.30 on March 15, the team will go to Ashok Nagar. They will return to Bhopal in the afternoon.
