As many as 54.41 percent voters cast their votes in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in 10 Parliamentary constituencies today according to information received till late night in Madhya Pradesh. This is 8.20 percent more compared to Lok Sabha elections in these constituencies in year 2009. Today, 61.08 percent male and 46.46 female voters exercised their franchise. Maximum 63.40 voting has been registered in Rajgarh and minimum 45.16 percent in Bhind.
Increase in poll percentage has been registered due to widespread voter awareness campaign in Madhya Pradesh. Voting percentage was 46.21 in Lok Sabha elections in these constituencies in year 2009.
Voters exhibited enthusiasm despite extreme heat and rains in some areas. in the second phase voting percentage was 51.67 percent in Morena, 45.15 in Bhind (SC), 50.78 percent in Gwalior, 61.11 in Guna, 59.08 in Sagar, 50.67 in Tikamgarh (SC), 54.06 in Damoh, 50.11 in Khajuaraho, 58.42 in Bhopal and 66.40 percent in Rajgarh Lok Sabha constituency.
