Food Corporation of India’s 9/10-year guarantee scheme PEG (Private Entrepreneur Godown) Scheme has been implemented to increase storage capacity in the state. In the first phase, Madhya Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Corporation was given sanction to construct godowns of 83 thousand MT capacity at 7 places. The corporation has completed construction of godowns of 79 thousand 450 MT capacity through private investors.
These include 13 thousand 750 MT capacity godowns in Seoni, 5000 MT Raisen, 4,720 MT Shivpuri, 18 thousand 480 MT Dhar, 10 thousand MT Dindori, 7,500 MT Megh Nagar in Jhabua and 20 thousand MT at Obaidullahganj in Raisen district. In these godowns, 9-year mandatory guarantee of food grains storage has been given to private investors.
In the second phase of the scheme, Food Corporation of India has given sanction to State Warehousing & Logistics Corporation to construct godowns of 5 lakh 39 thousand 900 MT capacity.
