Teetwal. Sharda Yatra Temple Committee Teetwal has handedover Gurudwara to Sikh Sangat of Karnah constructed at LoC Teetwal recently. This sikh gurudwara that has been rebuilt on the same piece of land where a gurudwara and a Dharamshala stood upto partition. This was burnt down in tribal raids in 1947. The bhumi Pujan of this new Gurudwara was organized on 2nd December 2021 and constructed under the aegis of Save Sharda Committee Kashmir regd , the parent trust. Local sikh community from nearby Tribwani village led by Committee member S. Joginder Singh took the keys from Ajaz Khan , member of Sharda yatra Temple committee. A 5 marla land belongs to Sikhs as per revenue records.
‘We are reclaiming and rebuilding the lost heritage ‘ said Ravinder Pandita , Head & Founder of Save Sharda Committee Kashmir regd. A Sharda yatra temple is also being constructed by this committee on the same plot on 18 marlas that belongs to hindus as per revenue records. It is notable to mention that this plot of land was handedover to Save Sharda Committee by locals of Tangdhar & Teetwal on 14 September 2021 when a large group of Kashmiri hindus was on a pilgrimage on annual Sharda divas , the day that used to mark annual pilgrimage pre partition times for Sharda Peeth that lies in PoK now. Every year the Committee organizes a programme on this day that marks the ancient annual yatra day to famous Sharda peeth. Swami Nand lal koul, a kashmiri saint was the last to manage the peeth, that holds a high place for Hindu faith.
No yatra has taken place to this peeth since 1948 when Swami Nand Lal Ji alongwith His followers migrated to Tikker in Kupwara following tribal raids.
