Madhya Pradesh to get 15 MW solar energy

Agreement signed for next 25 years

Madhya Pradesh will get 15 MW solar energy. For this, an agreement was signed between MP Power Management Company and Messrs KRBL. This power will be obtained for next 25 years at the competitive tariff of Rs. 6.949 per unit. In the presence of company’s Managing Director Shri Manu Shrivastava the power purchase agreement (PPA) was signed by company’s General Manager (IPC) Shri R.D. Saxena and Shri Avdhesh Kumar Sharma of Messrs KRBL.

KRBL Limited is going to set up a 15 MW solar power plant at village Hatipura in Barod tahsil of Agar district. The supply of power generated by this plant to Madhya Pradesh will start after 18 months from December 2015.

Company’s MD Shri Shrivastava informed that the company had invited tenders from private companies as per norms prescribed by Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission for purchase of non-conventional energy. Of these, PPL has been signed with Delhi’s KRBL Limited. Agreements with other companies will also be signed soon. He informed that apart from reduction in environmental pollution, state will also get adequate power through use of solar energy.

It is noteworthy that the company had invited tenders for solar energy for long term availability of power in the beginning of the year. Total 24 offers were received. Of these, letters of intent were issued to purchase 120 MW solar power to 6 companies on May 5. from these companies, solar power will be purchased at the rate of Rs. 6.47 to Rs. 6.97 per unit. These tariffs will be effective for 25 years.
